Interview - The Analogue Cops
Bloomsbury Academic has announced the January 29th release of Vinyl: The Analogue Record In The Digital Age, a book-length study by sociologists and music fans Dominik Bartmanski and Ian Woodward.
The book argues for the vinyl record's status as a cultural icon, impervious to an increasingly digital music culture. The academics sought to ascertain why vinyl, a format previously abandoned by the industry, has experienced a renaissance. In their quest for answers, the duo interviewed musicians, DJs, record store owners and label heads in London, New York, Tokyo, Melbourne and Berlin.
